award winning filmmaker Kojo McPherson

A writer, poet, photographer, director and theatre guild member – a jack of all trades if you will, has recently won the prize for best project idea and pitch for a feature film at the RBC Focus: Filmmakers’ Immersion at the Trinidad & Tobago film festival (TTFF). This big-hearted individual has won top honours and TT$20,000, when he pitched his idea, a film titled Adero – to a jury at the end of the Fifth Annual TTFF last September in Trinidad.

Kojo has been a regular at the Theatre Guild since 2008 and the Guild’s unofficial photographer and executive committee member. A while back he gave an eloquent summation of the importance of the Guild, “[it] has been invaluable to me as a creative professional. It is where I've trained myself as a photographer as the Guild's official photographer, received extensive training in filmmaking, and been fortunate enough to be mentored as a playwright for stage ….As a lover of the arts - a 'consumer' - Theatre Guild has become a familiar and frequent watering hole for serious theatre enthusiasts interested in fresh productions and fresh talent.”
